Questions and answers:
What is Crimson Circle?
Crimson Circle is a freehold chapter of Amtgard, located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. During the summer, we meet at Pamperin County Park on Saturdays at 1:00 pm. Our winter location and schedule will be updated soon.
What is Amtgard?
Amtgard is a unique combination of live-action role-playing, medieval reenactment, and large-scale tactical combat. It's different from other LARP's in that it incorporates a very safe and fast-paced light-contact foam-fighting combat system that people of all shapes and sizes can enjoy.
Who plays Amtgard?
Amtgard is open to anyone for participation. There are both combat and non-combat roles available. Combat participants younger than 14 will require special permission, and anyone under 18 will require permission of a parent or legal guardian. Because of the extremely safe nature of the game, you will find yourself up against a variety of men, women, boys, and girls from all different backgrounds throughout the country. In Wisconsin, participants range in age from 12 to over 50, with the majority being 16-30.
Is it Expensive?
Amtgard is completely free to try. If you want to get involved, we will show you how to fashion inexpensive weapons and garb. Most weapons can be made for $5 to $10, and garb can be as simple as a tabard and belt.
What if I don't want to fight?
No problem! Amtgard offers feasts, role-play quests, and many opportunities for social and political involvement that go far beyond fighting.
