GAC 2009I’ll apologize that this is so last minute but I didn’t want to post this until the Rune Quest III feedback had occurred and then it slipped my mind. If anyone is interested in helping with GAC next year I’d be open to the idea, especially with the ‘Challenge’ portion of the event. If Crimson Circle, or a few people from CC, wanted to run one of the encounters it would be a great opportunity to bring some fresh new ideas into our challenge. If anyone is interested I’d be happy to talk about the guidelines that go into making the ‘Encounters/Challenges’ fit within the challenge. We are having our first official organizational meeting tonight (Aug 23rd) in Neenah. If anyone is very interested I may be able to arrange for a ride as I am already deeply considering coming up to your Cook Out today, it sounds like a lot of fun!!! Here is what I posted on the Frostlands Forums Where: Wolf's House in Neenah People often ask for the Challenge to actually be longer... I'd love to see some of the other Companies/Households take an interest in running one of the individual challenges. They are not that much work if you space it over time. If you need a Ride to the meeting let me know and I’ll see what I can do. Email me privately and I’ll give you my phone number if you don’t already have it. If someone in Oshkosh wants to volunteer to help get people to the meeting that is cool as well. I look forward to seeing you there!!! Bob: That guy who wants to see GAC be really really cool. |

Boboko, I'm sure you'll read
Boboko, I'm sure you'll read this and you already know my feelings but I'll lay it on the line anyway.
If someone likes to play Amtgard, they'll play it. Rune Quest is run just outside of Oshkosh which is damn close to the Frostlands. A whole three Frostlanders (Wolf, Boboko and Ursa) showed up.
Proximity, due to gas prices, is my prime monetary reason for making it to an event or not (and I drive a Prius).
Anyway, Sarmma and myself boycott any GAC until more appropriate numbers show up to Rune Quest. Furthermore, we encourage others to do the same.
That goes both ways, though.
That goes both ways, though. Maybe they aren't coming to RuneQuest because not many of us showed up to the GAC.
It doesn't go both ways
It doesn't go both ways though. Rune Quest was run first, and the Frosties aren't running an event just outside of Green Bay.
If they ran GAC in my "backyard", I would go.
I'm sorry that I work second
I'm sorry that I work second shift and overtime. I'll try to work on that for next summer. :P (That's joking around for all of you who are tempted to get all pissy now...)

it was wierd how cc went to
it was wierd how cc went to frostlands normal fighting day after our weekend event, and only a couple of frostlands participated in a fight. Granted some did stop and talk, and i know we did leave early, but we were there for a while. i do see it both ways though about them coming to rq and us gac...
It is a nice catch 22 no
It is a nice catch 22 no doubt about it.
Unless something comes up that I can't schedule around I intend to support Rune Quest and any larger event that CC runs.
I have a few reasons for doing this:
1- I'm a selfish hedonistic bastard. I enjoy having fun with cool people. It helps that when I come up there I don't have to do much planning or 'work'.
2- More people=More fun.
3- It seems like the right thing to do.
4- It's fun
5- It allows me to stand on the other side of the line from Jyotis. A certain level of balance seems appropriate.
