Goblin RaidsTwikka has suggested that we put together some goblin raids. Now that The Casbah Feast is done, I think it's time to start discussing the specifics of these raids. What Twikka and I talked about was basically getting some decent goblin garb and makeup together for about 15-20 people and raiding Crimson Circle and other groups. The goblin raiders could be from any group, and they could raid any group. Since they're goblins, they'll probably lose, but it'll be fun anyway! |

my two cents is we should make a Goblin raidding household for now. Being as you can be in as many households as you want. Mayhap
Meet perhaps twice a month during prime summer fall months. Once as a raid to someones park, and possibly a second time to tend to private goblin affairs (on any day that works). Compare garb/costumes, and help improve garb and costumes, or just take another step in the Great Goblin adventrue. Perhaps someday the Goblehiem household shall prosper enough to settle in its own lands and found a shire, who knows?
If its my idea that was stolen, it was genesised as a solly goblin group. Though I am all for balanced monsters being allowed to be played, I do not know as goblins would be happy working with anything other then goblins.

It would probably be preplanned, at least with the monarch of the park. One possibility we talked about was having a quest start for the day, so everyone is garbed and ready to go, and we spring the goblin raid on them at that point. The goblins would have to be carefully hidden for it to work, though. Otherwise we just call it a "goblin raid day" and preplan the battle.

Then run a quest as goblins to try to capture another goblinoid/other monster to use in our raid - usually we would fail sometimes we might succeed - that was just an idea, though.
I support the idea of sticking to goblins, actually to keep it light hearted.
I'd tend to think the attempt to capture a stronger enemy to use would likely fail most of the time.
We were talking about meeting Sundays but maybe we could have a couple clans that meet Sundays and others that meet Saturdays and have multiple attempts to capture a helper for our raid or something.

I like the idea of the goblin quests to capture other monsters invariably failing. I think it would help get people used to the idea that you don't always 'win' a quest.
I also picture some really neat and elaberate plans (trojan rabbit) being thought of, with little ill thought out twists. (ex: Just how do you subdue a large creature immune to subdual).

Yeah, meeting days would be rough, though having them alternate between sunday and saturday may work, perhaps 'planning' them for the mornings before the Normal parks would meet. So if we raided CC then we'd meet at Pamperin at 10 in the morning, fight for a while, go hit lunch in goblin garb and then come back to raid CC.
The same going for hitting the Frostlands, basically the 'taking off' for lunch would make it so we could surprise the park in generaly, at least somewhat. Definately set it up with the Champions/Monarchs so they expect the 'raid' and know it won't interfere with something someone else may have planned for a given day.

I think it will be more fun if we make this an inter-park activity.
The idea is that the Goblins don't really have any allegiance to a single park.
They just go around raiding things.
For simplicity, I think we should sign in to our respective parks and get the monster credits.
It would be more work than necessary to try to create a separate park for this at this point of the game.
(If it catches on, though ... we could form that "Goblin Kingdom" as an alternate plan to a regular kingdom HAHA! That would be sOOOO awesomely flurbily funny! It would just be delicious >.<

The Name Goblinheim comes to mind whenever I think of an all goblin park, probably already used.
But no, I wouldn't try to 'create' a new park in any way, basically just a phantom park created by like minded people. Credits could go to whatever park the group is at that week.

I like the idea. Open it up to anyone who wants to play a goblin or possibly goblinoid (Goblins, Hobgoblins, Orks, or Ogres). All must have proper garb and can play their monster credits.
Heck we could even do a battle of that for the Great Northern Battle.

After your post, we talked about the other monsters, and we decided that we'd like to try it as just goblins, at least to start with. The whole point is that they're wimpy goblins, so it would make for a fun role-play raid.

Though I admit, I would find the idea of a 6th Level Healer as their Chief amusing :)

Not sure if I would go that
Not sure if I would go that far but I like the idea of having anyone who wants to play a goblin or possibly Goblinoid (Orks, Ogres, and Hill Giants) vs an equal number of non goblins.
It would be a good diversion from the zombie mess our parks are in.
