Chaoticon XVII Crimson Circle will be doing demos the whole wekeend of Chaoticon. Chaoticon is an event put on by the UWGB Gamer's club held at UW-Green Bay. We want to try to recruit some raiders for the Great Northern Battle. It will be at UWGB with a very small entrance fee. We will need at least 2 people committed to be there at all times - one to explain how the game is played and one to run weapon-making. The more other people that are around, the better. (I couldn't make an event with tims slots, since we won't need people overnight) Chaoticon runs Friday from 7-10, Saturday 10-10 and Sunday 10-10. We will be there the whole time, but want to run battlegames and quests at certain times, a newbie quest with us as the monsters. (non-Crimson Circle people more than welcome also) Also we would like to have a weapon-making booth. Give people a chance to make weapons, and maybe make us a bit of money in the process. |

Chaoticon was a huge success
Chaoticon was a huge success for us, so thank you to everyone that was able to come out for part or all of it! There is a lot of new interest in Amtgard as a result, and the new players already have their first weapons ready to go. Everyone that stepped up to help deserves a congratulations for a job well done.
I'm sure some of you are still as sore as I am from fighting all weekend or getting hit by arrows to the eyes, but it was definitely well worth it and a lot of fun!

yeah that was brutal.. not even 15 mins later she hit me in the eye.. then monday morning when i woke her up she punched me in the same eye.. i averaged this out.. its like she caused one eye injury every 5 hours.. keep in mind she probably slept for 8 hours sunday night.. those are some seriously scary stats

For anyone that was not at
For anyone that was not at Chaoticon Friday, you are missing out on a good time. We had 31 people sign in, and a handful more that learned the game and were ditching. Some newbies made their own swords already and more plan to tomorrow. So if you were not there, try to make it out Saturday or Sunday. I had to print up more waivers tonight and everything!

Also on the ORK this week, we top the list for most players, we beat out second place Western Gate by 16 people.
I think this weekend was a
I think this weekend was a great success. I just spent the last hour adding credits and waiver info. We had over 50 people participate on Saturday, about 30 the other 2 days, plus the many that didn't sign in. There were more than 40 weapons made. There were quite a few people that were very interested and came back multiple days. Hopefully we will be seeing more of them. Thank you to everyone that showed up, put up with the newbies, amd made our presence known.

I will be there for as much of it as I can. I plan on jumping in a few games, but otherwise I can help out where needed. I don't know what days I will be attending though. Probably most Friday and Saturday.

There will be quests run Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 6pm and Sunday at 10am. If we could get as many people at those times, that would be great! We will be needing people for the monsters roles.
Remember, you can get a credit for each day you are at Chaoticon - 3 in one weekend!

Sadly, I cannot be involved in the weapon-making booth like ever. I will be at Chaoticon for a relatively limited amount of time and plan on running quest/battlegames for most of it.
I will do 2 pre-scheduled quests. The first one will be Saturday at 6, the other will be Sunday early (10?) Possibly another Sunday night at 6 if there is interest.

If you now do a search you should be able to find some information on our old Geocities web page. We've been trying desperately to get our new website up and running, but we've been hitting a lot of snares.

I think we should plan a specific quest/battle game at least once a day. Probably early evening both saturday & sunday, give us time in the day to get people interested.

You only need one to be pre-cut, so you can show them some basic techniques. Also, different people have different styles of making swords that enhances their personal fighting styles.

This weekend I would like to talk about what we want to do exactly, obviously we will have to run quests when more of us will be able to be there. We need to have our form to gamers club in time for it to be added to the pre-printed schedule, so I'd like to get it all done soon.
